Note to self: Never again an event without an event app

📅 One week before the event

The invitation to the app arrived by email. I was curious - of course, an event with its own app sounds promising. But what does it really do?

Spoiler: Quite a lot.

I was thrilled as soon as I opened it. I was able to scroll through the entire program, mark my highlights, bookmark workshops and find out about the speakers. Everything in one flow, everything at a glance. No PDF clutter, no half-baked websites.

And then: matchmaking. I was just one click away from networking - my LinkedIn profile was quickly integrated and suitable contacts were suggested. As an introvert: a real game changer.

🎤 Day 1 - Fun & Community

The opening evening was legendary. Fuck-up night. The most embarrassing stories in the industry - and we were allowed to vote live. My QR badge from the app was my conversation starter par excellence. I got talking to people I would never have spoken to otherwise.

💡 Day 2 - Learn & Play

Workshops, deep dives, mini-games. All accompanied by the app. Thanks to the map function, I always knew where I was going - and thanks to push notifications, I never missed an item on the program.

Special highlight: the quiz after each session. And the "Who am I?" challenge - a kind of networking scavenger hunt. I had fun, laughed and made valuable new contacts along the way.

🤝 Day 3 - Reflecting & networking

The app was also my guide on the final day. I made final contacts, recorded ideas and filled out the feedback survey directly. It was great to see how seriously the organizers took our feedback - it was referred to directly in the moderation.

🎯 My conclusion?

Without an app? Unimaginable for me now. The event app enriched my visit - not just organizationally, but emotionally. I felt involved, inspired and connected. Not passively, but right in the middle of it.

And I honestly ask myself: How many contacts would I have missed without the app? How many program points would I have missed, how many opportunities would I have wasted?
