Goal

Intuitive visitor guidance, more visibility for arcades and direct communication - for a modern wine experience in the middle of the city.

I didn't think the app would be so well received - by the guests and the hosts! But that's exactly what it needed: a modern solution that works simply and still looks really good. We're already looking forward to next year with UpVisit!

Dominik Schwab
Head of the wine village

The Stuttgart Wine Village is one of the most traditional city festivals in Germany - in 2024 it took a digital step forward. With an intuitive app, interactive maps, guided wine tastings and a vote for the "Arbour of the Year", the event was digitally expanded without losing its character. The aim was to provide orientation, involve guests and make arbours more visible - with smart features instead of technical overload.

Challenges and goals

With over 30 arcades and a large number of visitors, it was crucial to guide guests through the wine village in an uncomplicated way - without traditional maps or elaborate signposts.

Digital communication in real time

Whether highlights of the day, program items or safety-related information - the app should serve as a direct communication channel to provide guests with targeted and up-to-date information.

Visibility for each individual arbor

From small wineries to traditional taverns: all arcades should be visible in the app - with menus, wine ranges and their own promotions, so that they can present themselves digitally.

Orientation
in a confined
space

With over 30 arcades and a large number of visitors, it was crucial to guide guests through the wine village in an uncomplicated way - without traditional maps or elaborate signposts.

Innovative features in use

To achieve these goals, the Stuttgart wine village relied on the versatile functions of the UpVisit Event App:

Interactive map

Where is which arbor? Which wines are available where? The app navigates through the wine village - including menus, wine selection & specials.

Guided Tours & Showcases

Right through the wine village - guided by the glass: Individual arcades offered app-supported wine tastings, where guests were guided through the range via smartphone. Storytelling, audio guides and personal recommendations made the tours a real experience - without any crowds at the stand.

Event calendar & daily highlights

From morning pints to live concerts: the app bundled the daily program clearly and individually filterable - sorted by arcades, times and topics. Push reminders provided timely information about events so that no highlight was missed.

Voting for "Arbor of the year"

Over 500 votes made the community vote a digital highlight - and a stage for new favorite arbors.

Conclusion: tradition meets innovation - with a smile

The wine village has shown how event apps can also shine at city festivals in public spaces. Targeted features, intuitive use and lovingly curated content turn a traditional festival into a digital experience that connects, inspires and delights.
